“MOMS Offering Moms Support” is what our club is all
about. At one time or another many of us have felt lonely and isolated in the
wonderful world of motherhood. While we are so happy to be able to dedicate our
time to raising our children, we still long for friendship and conversation with
other adults. You need a support group that understands your needs as an
at-home mother, and MOMS Club is a great way to find that support. Not only is
MOMS Club an easy way to meet other moms, its also a wonderful way for our
children to meet other children, learn to play together, and make friends.
Because our activities are focused for Moms and kids, children are welcome to
all events.
How Did
MOMS Club Begin?
In 1983 Mary James, an at-home mother in California, decided she was tired of
being alone at home. She wanted to meet other at-home mothers and she wanted to
find other at-home children for her children to play with. When she discovered
there were no other organizations that met during the day and allowed her to
come with her baby and preschooler, she decided to start a brand new
organization just for at-home mothers, and the MOMS Club was born.
The chapter she started was so successful, she knew mothers in other areas must
be needing the MOMS Club, too. Soon, she and other volunteers were helping
mothers start MOMS Club across the country and around the world!
We now have over 2,000 chapters with more than 100,000 members across the United
States.
